Senior Al-Shabaab leader captured in southern Somalia
Two men, Omar Aden Mohamed Abdulle Ahmed Mudey, appeared before a military tribunal in Mogadishu charged with Al-Shabaab membership and murder. Their lawyer denies the charges against them and asks for psychiatric evaluation of the defendants.

3 federal soldiers from the 60th Division were killed, one escaped during an encounter with Al-Shabaab in Daynunay area near Baidoa. The 4 soldiers left their base in attempt to reach Baidoa but were ambushed by Shabaab. Officials could not be reached to comment on what happened
